When leakage occurs, abnormal current and voltage signals will appear. For example, for a 30mA0.1s protector, the time from the current value 30mA to the separation of the main contacts is less than 0.1s.

For example, leakage current 30mA leakage protector, when the current value is lower than 15mA do not operate, otherwise it is easy to malfunction due to high sensitivity, affecting the normal operation of electrical equipment.

Under normal circumstances, when the current flows from the live wire to the zero wire, the currents of the two wires should be equal, and the magnetic fields induced on the zero sequence transformer are the same in magnitude and opposite in direction, canceling each other out.
When leakage occurs, part of the current flows into the earth, causing the live current to be greater than the zero line, and the magnetic field in the zero sequence transformer is no longer balanced. A voltage is then induced in the secondary winding, triggering the internal thyristor. After the thyristor is turned on, the power supply of the electromagnetic release is turned on, so that the release will automatically trip immediately and cut off the power supply. This is why the leakage protector can prevent electric shock, because the power supply can be cut off within 0.1 seconds after leakage, so it can ensure safety.

According to the cause of electric shock, it can be divided into direct electric shock and indirect electric shock. Direct contact protection can generally use insulation, shielding, fence, safety distance and other measures; indirect contact protection can generally use protective grounding (zero), protection cut-off, leakage protection and other measures.
